NY Rangers vs.Pittsburg Penguins

Tonight the Rangers played the Penguins in a very exciting game. The gamewas going in the wrong direction for the Rangers in the beggining as they fell behind 2-0 early. Half way through the second period the Rangers finally got on the scoreboard as Nikoli Zherdev put one passed Pittsburg goalie, Sabourin. With just six minutes remaining and the Rangers still trailing 2-1, Peter Prucha scored a huge goal to tie the game and eventually send it into overtime. There was no scoring in the overtime so the game went to a shootout. The Rangers shooters Markus Naslund, Nikoli Zherdev, and Fredrik Sjostrom all scored giving the Rangers the win against their division rival. The Rangers are in first place in the confrence with an 18-8-2 record, 38 points. I love the fact that the Rangers are in first and it would great to see them win The Stanley Cup this year because 1994 was way too long ago.

Plaxico Burress

Plaxico Burress is a very well know guy among New Yorkers as he was the Giants wide reciever that caught the game winning ball in the Giants Super Bowl victory over the Patriots last season. This year things arent looking to good for Burress as he has made one of the dumbest moves ever. Burress shot himself in his right leg friday night in a Manhattan nightclub. Burress was charged on two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. This could result in a prison sentence of 3 1/2 to 15 years if convicted. Besides these very serious legal consequences Burress was also suspended for the remainder of the season. Burress' boneheaded decision gaurantees that he wont be making any Super Bowl winning catches this year and he may also be sitting behind bars for a long time.

NFL Week 13

Week 13 wasn't a good week for Jets fans as they got crushed by the Broncos 34-17. The Jets were an 8 point favorite and were expected to blow the Broncos out but the exact opposite happened. This loss downgraded the Jets record to 8-4. They now only lead both the Patriots and Dolphins by 1 game in the division as the Dolphins found a way to win again defeating the Rams 16-12. The remainder of the Jets schedule is supposed to played against so-called easy teams making the Jets the favorite to win in each game but as we seen this week anything could happen.

Thanksgiving Football

Every year there are three football games played on Thanksgiving. This is my favorite part about Thanksgiving, better than the turkey. This year the Lions got crushed again by the Titans, the Cowboys destroyed the Seahawks, and the Eagles pumbled the Cardinals. Every single game was a blowout. This took some of the excitement out of the games. The Lions and Cowboys play on Thanksgiving every year no matter what. Every year it is also very reliable that the Lions get blown out by their opponent. I think the NFL needs to reconsider making the Lions play on Thanksgiving every year so that we don't have to watch a guaranteed lob-sided game. This game should be replaced by any other game that week, it would be much more interesting for the fans to watch.

The Fort - Mens A Division Playoffs

On Wednesday i played the first of a best of 3 game series in the first round of the playoffs. My team finished in first place so we had the liberty of playing the last place Sharks. Only 5 guys showed up to play for my team probably because it was thanksgiving eve and everyone went out. Even with only 5 guys my team still managed to win the game 2-1. It was a touogh game to comew away with a victory in but we did it and now have a 1-0 series lead. This puts all the presure on them to win game 2 or else they will be eliminated and my team will move on to the finals.

Jets vs. Titans Week 12

Yesterday the Jets played the undefeated Titans. The Titans were 10-0 and the Jets 7-3 going into the game both first in their divisions, but the Jets were a six point underdog. The Jets won the game big to the surprise of many. They dominated the Titans and won 34-13. This was a huge win because the Jets are now the team to beat because they the only team to beat the Titans this season. The Jets are now 8-3 and still lead their division with only five games remaining in the season. The Jets play the Broncos next week who are 6-5 and also in first place in their division. This is a big game for the Broncos so they should play hard and put up good competition but the Jets are an 8 point favorite so another win is projected but anything could happen. LETS GO JETS!!!

Intramural Football Championship

Yesterday we played the playoffs of the St. Johns intramural football league. My team finished the season in first place again and only lost one game the entire season by one point on the last play of the game. We had to play two games yesterday, if we won the first game we would play for the championship in the second game. We dominated the Dragons in the first game 34-0. We then had to wait for the winner of the Warrior vs. Tropic Thunder game to see who would play us for the championship. The Warriors won and we played the in the finals. We controlled the game from the start as we had an 18-0 lead at halftime. The final score was 18-6 and we won the championship for the second consecutive year. I have never lost in this intramural league and i plan on winning the championship every year.
