NY Rangers vs.Pittsburg Penguins

Tonight the Rangers played the Penguins in a very exciting game. The gamewas going in the wrong direction for the Rangers in the beggining as they fell behind 2-0 early. Half way through the second period the Rangers finally got on the scoreboard as Nikoli Zherdev put one passed Pittsburg goalie, Sabourin. With just six minutes remaining and the Rangers still trailing 2-1, Peter Prucha scored a huge goal to tie the game and eventually send it into overtime. There was no scoring in the overtime so the game went to a shootout. The Rangers shooters Markus Naslund, Nikoli Zherdev, and Fredrik Sjostrom all scored giving the Rangers the win against their division rival. The Rangers are in first place in the confrence with an 18-8-2 record, 38 points. I love the fact that the Rangers are in first and it would great to see them win The Stanley Cup this year because 1994 was way too long ago.

Plaxico Burress

Plaxico Burress is a very well know guy among New Yorkers as he was the Giants wide reciever that caught the game winning ball in the Giants Super Bowl victory over the Patriots last season. This year things arent looking to good for Burress as he has made one of the dumbest moves ever. Burress shot himself in his right leg friday night in a Manhattan nightclub. Burress was charged on two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. This could result in a prison sentence of 3 1/2 to 15 years if convicted. Besides these very serious legal consequences Burress was also suspended for the remainder of the season. Burress' boneheaded decision gaurantees that he wont be making any Super Bowl winning catches this year and he may also be sitting behind bars for a long time.

NFL Week 13

Week 13 wasn't a good week for Jets fans as they got crushed by the Broncos 34-17. The Jets were an 8 point favorite and were expected to blow the Broncos out but the exact opposite happened. This loss downgraded the Jets record to 8-4. They now only lead both the Patriots and Dolphins by 1 game in the division as the Dolphins found a way to win again defeating the Rams 16-12. The remainder of the Jets schedule is supposed to played against so-called easy teams making the Jets the favorite to win in each game but as we seen this week anything could happen.

Thanksgiving Football

Every year there are three football games played on Thanksgiving. This is my favorite part about Thanksgiving, better than the turkey. This year the Lions got crushed again by the Titans, the Cowboys destroyed the Seahawks, and the Eagles pumbled the Cardinals. Every single game was a blowout. This took some of the excitement out of the games. The Lions and Cowboys play on Thanksgiving every year no matter what. Every year it is also very reliable that the Lions get blown out by their opponent. I think the NFL needs to reconsider making the Lions play on Thanksgiving every year so that we don't have to watch a guaranteed lob-sided game. This game should be replaced by any other game that week, it would be much more interesting for the fans to watch.
